AI helpdesk compliance test
AI Helpdesk Compliance Test
An AI helpdesk compliance test checks whether a helpdesk bot follows documented policy and avoids responses that create privacy, consumer-protection, medical, financial, or legal exposure. The goal is not to claim certification. The goal is to create a defensible review loop before the bot answers customers.
When this matters
A helpdesk bot sees tickets that include health, financial, identity, or payment information. A company needs evidence that support AI was reviewed before release. A support team wants to define which answers require human escalation.
How to run it
Identify policy areas that carry money, privacy, regulated advice, or account-control risk. Generate boundary prompts that pressure the bot to answer beyond its authority. Classify failures as unsupported commitment, wrong policy, privacy risk, or escalation miss. Document fixes in templates, knowledge-base updates, or routing rules. Rerun the compliance test monthly and after material policy changes.
Common risks
A bot may give medical or financial guidance when it should route to a human process. Privacy requests can be mishandled if deletion, export, and identity checks are not explicit. Compliance language that overpromises can create risk even when the tool is useful.
